Herb Garden Kit for Windowsill
This is next series of Windowsill garden. In selecting an herb garden kit for windowsill, make sure there is enough room for what is being bought. Do not buy kits that have containers without drainage holes. One would have to be a genius to work out a watering schedule that would work. There should also be some sort of saucer or some other devicen to catch the excess water, especially if it is to sit on the windowsill. Pots used without saucers on a wood surface will cause the paint to peel. The kit illustrated here is a nice as any I have seen. It is made of clear plastic and chrome, the pots have drainage holes, and they are neatly held just above the drainage tray.
The tray is cupped on the edges, just enough to catch overflow, but not enough to allow the pots to stand in water. Water should be kept in the tray to add humidity, especially in the heating season when air is very dry.
Check them out and I am sure one can be found that will suit your individual needs and decorating tastes. Check also the window shelves of metal and glass and the windowsill protectors and extenders. The public has been asking for new and better ways to grow plants on the windowsill and manufacturers are at the task.
