Weird Workout Reactions

Reaction #1, Dizziness
Signal:
Light-headedness or a mild spinning sensation while exercise.
How it`s tied to your workout:
The biggest culprits include not drinking enough fluids, exceeding your target heart rate or stopping an exercise session too abruptly.
What to do:
Gradually stop exercising, then walk slowly to lower your heart rate. After about 5 minutes, sit down to regain your composure. If you still feel faint, lie on your back and raise your legs above your heart. This redistributes blood flow to prevent fainting. Recurring dizziness demans a doctor`s visit and may indicate anemia, heart disease, high or low blood pressure or an irregular heartbeat.
To avoid dizziness, warm up and cool down thoroughly; get up slowly after bench and floor moves; and drink water before, during and after workouts. Carry a filled water bottle and drink every 15 minutes. Also do frequent heart rate checks to be sure you`re not overdoing it for extended periods of time, and avoid exercises that boost your heart rate above 75 percent of your maximum.
Reaction #2, Irregular Bleeding
Signal:
Spotting, erratic or missed periods or light menstrual flow.
How it`s tied to your workout:
Irregular bleeding most often occurs in competitive athletes who are overtraining. “Menstrual cycles are sensitive to physical and mental stress,” says Paul M. Fine, M.D. Reduced body fat, in adequate nutrition and competition-related worries can all contribute to irregular periods.
What to do:
Consult your doctor immediately if you notice any change in your cycle, since persistent failure to ovulate can lead to fertility problems and an increased.
